The current percent of individuals who are severely rent or mortgage burdened is 15% in Central Oregon. These families are spending over 50% of their income on housing. That means there is little room in the budget for home improvement in order to keep a household safe and healthy. There is a strong link between stable and affordable housing to health. Central Oregon lacks a way to know the exact number of those who are homeless in Central Oregon. It is also hard for Central Oregon to identify and target certain areas that are in need of housing resources.

Assess which areas in the chosen region are in need of Habitat for Humanity's housing and rehabilitation program.

Expanded awareness of Habitat for Humanity resources.
New community partners and community members have now used Habitat for Humanity's resources.
The survey has been used to collect housing needs in Southern Deschutes County and now can be repeated for other regions.

New community partnerships were formed to Southern Deschutes County through the partnerships utilized in this project.
