Celebrating Families!
An Effective Practice
Description
The goal of Celebrating Families! is to strengthen recovery from alcohol and/or drugs, break the cycle of addiction, and increase successful family reunification.
Celebrating Families! is delivered over 16 sessions to multiple families at a time. At the beginning of each session families sit together and eat dinner, after which all participants split into age-appropriate groups. The topics covered include: healthy living, nutrition, communication, feelings and defenses, anger management, and facts about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Each session includes role-plays, handouts, children's stories, and activity sheets.
